The Eldred v Ashcroft case, challenging the constitutionality of the
Copyright Term Extension Act, has divided the arts community. While
scholars and artists have filed briefs on behalf of Eldred, some publishers
and other artists have supported the Government's case. As one of its IFAR
Evenings, the International Foundation for Art Research is organizing a
symposium on the impact this case may have on the arts community.
