As the 20th Anniversary Edition of the TOTh International Conference approaches,
we are pleased to share a major milestone of this anniversary year: the

The monograph is devoted to a conceptual theory of terminology and revisits the
development of ontoterminology since its introduction in 2007. It examines the
conceptual foundations of terminology and addresses central questions concerning
what a concept is, how it is constructed, how knowledge can be organised
coherently, and how terminology relates to both language and conceptual systems.
In doing so, it argues that terminology is not only a science of words, but also
a science of things.

The publication comes at a particularly important moment, as a French AFNOR
standard on ontoterminology is currently under development, alongside a draft
international ISO standard. In this context, the book offers a timely
contribution to ongoing discussions on terminology, ontology, knowledge
representation, and artificial intelligence.
