Dear Amelia Acker

Is it correct that your book 'Archiving Machines',
which is advertised as available for free in Open
Access form, is in fact not yet available for free
in that form?

I ask because when I follow the links for
the free version I get from the MIT website
the message "The eBook that you are trying to
access is forthcoming and should publish soon.
We apologize for the inconvenience! When the
book publishes, the link you started from
will redirect to the available content."

And yet the book IS published and available to
buy: the Amazon website just let me put a copy
in my basket.

Could you clarify the situation regarding your
book? It's not right for a book to be advertised
as being available in 'Open Access' form if it
isn't. For some of us this designation carries
a lot of cachet and the 'brand', as it were,
needs to be protected.

Regards

Gabriel Egan
