Department of Digital Humanities, University of Cologne Hosted by DH-Cologne www.dhhumanist.org Submit to: humanist@dhhumanist.org Date: 2025-01-14 15:34:30+00:00 From: Willard McCarty <willard.mccarty@mccarty.org.uk> Subject: Norms for the Digital Age Archives of IT 2025 Forum on Norms for the Digital Age: How are new technologies and norms affecting professionalism, journalism, education and international cyber security? Tuesday, January 28, 10am - 5pm GMT <https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/archives-of-it-2025-forum-on-norms-for-the- digital-age-tickets-1082292890169?aff=oddtdtcreator> In January 2025, Archives of IT will host the second of its annual series of forums following on from its first on the Histories of the Internet and our Networked Digital Society. The 2025 forum on Norms of the Digital Age will bring a multi-disciplinary set of academics to meet with practitioners and leaders from civil society, business, industry, and government. With the progress and adoption of new technologies our contexts of use have shaped the norms governing these different information and communication technologies, such as the internet, social media and the smartphone. Now with the addition of generative AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, experts at our Forum will discuss how together they are affecting professionalism, journalism, education and international cyber security. The forum is an opportunity to build new academic networks in an under-developed field, and also foster academic-industry interaction. It is in line with AIT's objective of raising public awareness of the rich and important history of technology in the UK. -- Willard McCarty, Professor emeritus, King's College London; Editor, Humanist www.mccarty.org.uk _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe at: http://dhhumanist.org/Restricted List posts to: humanist@dhhumanist.org List info and archives at at: http://dhhumanist.org Listmember interface at: http://dhhumanist.org/Restricted/ Subscribe at: http://dhhumanist.org/membership_form.php
