        Subject: survival of your postings

This is merely to make you aware that due to the usual flood of bounced
postings from e-mail addresses of those who are away and from inactive
accounts, there's always a chance your posting will not survive. So if
you send something to Humanist, please watch for it and let me know if
it fails to appear. Messages from members are NEVER censored except for
the exceedingly rare one likely to cause a 'flame war', and when that
happens I ALWAYS let the author know and explain my reasons. This has
happened less than half a dozen or so times since Humanist began (in 1987),

Applications for membership have recently been put at risk by a bot that
is sending in fake (thankfully nonsensical) ones. If you know someone
who has applied and has not received acceptance within a day or so,
kindly ask them to reapply.

The above difficulties are currently being investigated and will be fixed.

All best,
WM
