The full call for papers is here: https://www.degruyter.com/journal/key/eehs/html?lang=en#specialIssues This special issue aims to explore the growing role of quantitative methods, ranging from statistical techniques to natural language processing to deep learning and data visualizations in Holocaust research. We invite scholars from diverse fields, including history, sociology, demography, economics, and digital humanities, to submit abstracts that showcase innovative research, methodologies, and case studies that illuminate new perspectives on the Holocaust through the application of these advanced techniques. Article proposals can be submitted to Eastern European Holocaust Studies in English or Ukrainian at eehs@degruyter.com to the editors, Ildikó Barna (Eötvös Loránd University), Mykola Makhortykh (University of Bern) and Martin Wynne (University of Oxford). The length of the research articles shall be up to 8,000 words and follow the style guide of the journal. The shorter pieces in the form of essays or position papers can be also considered Planned schedule • November 15, 2024: Submission of a 500–700-word proposal in English and a short bio • December 15, 2024: Notification of accepted article proposals • May 31, 2025: Deadline to submit the first draft of the article (maximum 50,000 characters including notes and spaces) • May 31, 2026: Submission of an updated version of the article following peer review • July 31, 2026: Submission of another updated version of the article following peer review • December 2026: publication of the special issue EEHS Vol.4.
