here we have a clear example of the troubles for digital preservation of
a complex project.
i mean, an important lesson to learn for everyone who is managing or
planning a project.
the main concept is that there is an asset and there is a place/method
of fruition.
the asset are the data (geolocation, photos, descriptions, other
descriptive data), the place/method was geopedia.

now the place/method must be changed but the asset is there, untouched
and not locked.
obvious that in turn, the asset must be 'written' in an interoperable,
open format.
the suggestion of "OpenStreetMap and Wikidata, with links to separately
placed images" appears a good one.

and beside all this, i clearly see the civic/political meaning of
mapping partisan and anti-fascist monuments: in Italy too, where i live,
i think it would be a good thing to do.

by talking of the Slovenian project in aiucd-l, i discovered two similar
projects in Italy:
https://www.straginazifasciste.it/
https://campifascisti.it/mappe.php

both use OpenStreetMap
