An der Universität Bern ist eine Professur für Germanistische Mediävistik
ausgeschrieben.
Zum 1. August 2025 ist am Institut für Germanistik der Universität Bern eine
Assistenzprofessur mit Tenure Track, Ausserordentliche oder Ordentliche
Professur für Germanistische Mediävistik (Ältere deutsche Literatur bis um 1500)
zu besetzen (Nachfolge Prof. Dr. Michael Stolz).
Die Stelleninhaberin oder der Stelleninhaber vertritt selbständig und möglichst
breit die Lehre und Forschung im Bereich der Germanistischen Mediävistik.
Besondere Berücksichtigung sollen digitale Ansätze finden (beispielsweise aus
der digitalen Editionsphilologie oder den computational literary studies).
Neben der Betreuung der Studierenden auf Bachelor-, Master- und Doktoratsstufe
bietet die Fakultät Mitwirkung in der akademischen Selbstverwaltung an,
ermuntert zur aktiven Zusammenarbeit am Institut sowie mit benachbarten
Disziplinen oder Institutionen wie dem am Walter Benjamin Kolleg (Studiengänge
‹Editionsphilologie› und ‹Digital Humanities›) sowie mit dem ‹Berner
Mittelalterzentrum› BMZ.

The University of Bern is offering a professorship in German Medieval Studies.
An assistant professorship with tenure track, associate or full professorship in
German Medieval Studies (older German literature up to around 1500) is to be
filled at the Institute of German Studies at the University of Bern as of August
1, 2025 (successor to Prof. Dr. Michael Stolz).
The holder of the position will be responsible for teaching and research in the
field of German Medieval Studies as independently and broadly as possible.
Special consideration should be given to digital approaches (for example from
digital edition philology or computational literary studies).
In addition to supervising students at Bachelor's, Master's and doctoral level,
the faculty offers participation in academic self-administration and encourages
active cooperation within the institute as well as with neighboring disciplines
or institutions such as the Walter Benjamin Kolleg (courses in
'Editionsphilologie' and 'Digital Humanities') and the 'Berner
Mittelalterzentrum' BMZ.
