Humanist Discussion Group, Vol. 37, No. 315. Department of Digital Humanities, University of Cologne Hosted by DH-Cologne www.dhhumanist.org Submit to: humanist@dhhumanist.org Date: 2023-11-18 06:37:07+00:00 From: Willard McCarty <willard.mccarty@mccarty.org.uk> Subject: content authenticity Some here may know of the Content Authenticity Initiative, "a community of media and tech companies, NGOs, academics, and others working to promote adoption of an open industry standard for content authenticity and provenance" (https://contentauthenticity.org). As an amateur photographer I found out about the CAI from my camera manufacturer. It's not difficult to see how important such work could be now that artificially intelligent systems are sufficiently developed that a reliable distinction can be made between human and artificial creations, genuine and fake and so on. But perhaps you know more and can comment?
