Hi list,

Just after I posted my last message about this, the deadline for
applications was extended, and a new link created for the advert. Please
accept my apologies if you are struggling to get hold of the
information. The new deadline is 21 May 2023.

Swansea University Department of Computer Science is looking to recruit
a lecturer or senior lecturer in Digital Technology. This post would
suit a candidate with interdisciplinary research interests studying the
interactions between computing technology and society. We invite
applications from researchers in fields like history of science, science
and technology studies, Digital media, or human centred computing. A
successful candidate would be expected to contribute to teaching in
computer science.

I would draw your attention specifically to the existence of the
fabulous History of Computing Collection at Swansea University, an
excellent resource for research and teaching in this area.

Subject: Permanent RSE position at the Service Center for Digital Humanities (SCDH) Münster, Germany: Machine Learning and/or Digital Edition

Dear colleagues,

there is a job opening for a permanent position for a
research software engineer (RSE) at the Service Center for
Digital Humanities
(https://www.uni-muenster.de/DH/en/scdh/index.html) in
Münster, Germany with the focus on Machine Learning and/or
Digital Editions.

The center is located at the University and State Library.
We are an agile and friendly team of digital humanists who
work closely with research projects from all disciplines of
the humanities, advise them methodologically and accompany
them through software development.
Payment is based on the conditions of the public service
(collective agreement of the federal states, income level
13, i.e. depending on work experience between about 52,000
and 75,000 euros gross per year).

A job description can be found here:
https://dhd-blog.org/?p=19391

Our usual working language is German, but we are all able to
speak English. So if you do not speak German yet but are
willing to learn it, you are very welcome to apply and
emphasize your commitment in the application.
A note close to my heart: I'd be very happy if our team
could increase its diversity in the future.

Best regards
Jan (Horstmann)
