Dear digital humanists,

We are pleased to announce "Global Horizons of the Digital and Public
Humanities", a generative week of meetings, presentations, fieldwork and
roundtable discussions organized jointly by the Venice Centre for Digital
and Public Humanities (VeDPH), Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, and the
Center for Spatial and Textual Analysis (CESTA), Stanford University. The
inaugural year of the biannual, international research  institute is
dedicated to the theme of  “Cities and Water”. A global cohort of graduate
students and faculty will convene at two intensive, weeklong institutes,
the first to be held at the Department for Humanities (DSU) in Venice
between October 9-13, and the second at CESTA in Stanford in Spring 2024.

The programme includes the International Conference “Paving the Way to the
Rediscovery of Ancient Greece: Cristoforo Buondelmonti and Other

successful conclusion of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie project MapAeg,
as well as the Venice Seminar in Digital and Public Humanities by Mark
Algee-Hewitt (Stanford): “Truth in Climate Fiction: Communicating Real

All events are open to the public and in presence. The seminar can also be
attended online (see link for registration).
