        Subject: Giving Tuesday - Recommendations?

Hi All,

As every organization is ramping up for Giving Tuesday in the U.S., perhaps
we can help each other focus our giving (limited as it may be) for specific
projects. I'd certainly like to know about any formal campaigns that are
near and dear to you that have to do with digital-ness and giving priority
to underrepresented voices in some way.

Here's mine -- the SJSU Digital Humanities Center is being built with the
help of a 5-year NEH Challenge Grant. We're attempting to reach $10,000 for
this point in our Year 2 fundraising:

At SJSU, we do work to surface and highlight those voices that often don't
get heard, especially through digital projects. For instance, we're
collecting the COVID stories in multiple languages for the COVID
Chronicles, discussing the impact of Twitter's evolution with 2 of our
faculty experts, creating VR/AR versions of public art in downtown San Jose
to preserve murals that will eventually be destroyed when buildings are
re-developed, studying the impact of toxic stress on middle-schoolers,
visualizing the brain to discover how engaging arts performances create
wellness opportunities..and so much more

It's a dream scenario to have this resource at a publicly-funded state
university - only the 2nd Digital Humanities Center within the 23-CSU
campuses. Every dollar counts and makes a massive impact with the
communities that we serve!

Looking forward to hearing about everyone's #givingtuesday projects and
goals.

All best,
Kathy
