The Digital Scholarship Librarian works collaboratively to advance the scholarly
and research activities of faculty, students, and staff engaged in digital
scholarship, with particular attention to providing support for projects that
involve the creation of digital editions, digital exhibits, and multimodal
storytelling in a classroom setting. The Digital Scholarship Librarian will: 

  *   Partner with faculty, students, and library staff on scholarly digital
projects in all stages, including design, proposal, development, maintenance,
and preservation; bringing together collaborators with various disciplinary and
technical strengths as needed.
  *   Develop and lead workshops on digital scholarship methods, tools, and
approaches for faculty, students, and library staff.
  *   Design and maintain instruction materials (e.g., research guides,
websites, tutorials, handouts, and exercises) that effectively synthesize and
demonstrate complex topics and that provide additional opportunities for self-
guided learning.

Basic Requirements:

  *   Knowledge and skills as typically acquired by a Master’s degree in
humanities or social sciences combined with relevant experience with scholarly
digital projects, OR a Master's degree in Library/Information Science from an
ALA-accredited program, or equivalent.
  *   Demonstrated knowledge of digital scholarship methods, with a particular
focus on digital editions, digital exhibits, and multimodal storytelling.
  *   Familiarity with one or more tools for creating scholarly digital projects
(e.g., Omeka, Spotlight, ArcGIS StoryMaps, Hypothes.is, Scalar, GitHub Pages and
Jekyll, or others).
  *   Instructional experience with a range of constituents.
  *   Demonstrated knowledge of emerging trends in digital scholarship.
  *   Demonstrated experience in project management and teamwork facilitation.
  *   Ability to communicate with a variety of partners, including technical
experts and those with limited technical knowledge.
  *   Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment as well as take
initiative on independent projects.
  *   Desire to learn about patron needs, recommend solutions to continuously
improve library service, and create a compelling, holistic experience of the
library.
  *   Interest in and willingness to adopt the Tisch Library values of
Community, Curiosity & Learning, Openness, and Social Justice.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):

  *   Experience authoring or collaborating on scholarly digital projects in
research or instruction.
  *   Experience providing instruction to others in digital scholarship methods,
tools, and approaches.

The Research Data Librarian supports a range of services related to accessing,
using, and managing quantitative and other types of scientific data. This
position works with student, faculty, and staff users and producers of data, and
helps to identify, develop, implement, and assess data services to meet the
needs of the Tufts community. The Research Data Librarian will:

  *   Provide outreach, consultation, and instruction in various modalities on
topics such as finding and accessing particular types of data, using software
and tools for working with data (e.g., Python, R, OpenRefine), preparing data
for analysis, and managing and publishing data.
  *   Foster relationships with departments, research institutes or centers, and
laboratories in order to maximize support across campus, including for the
creation of data management plans for grant proposals.
  *   Actively contribute to and promotes data curation services in Tufts
repositories, as well as in disciplinary data repositories.

2023-2024 Residential Fellowship Opportunities, Library & Museum of the
American Philosophical Society

The Library & Museum of the American Philosophical Society in Philadelphia
invites applications for sabbatical, postdoctoral, predoctoral, and
short-term research fellowships for projects in all fields working on
research projects utilizing its collections.

The APS's Library & Museum’s collections make it among the premier
institutions for documenting and exhibiting the history of the American
Revolution and founding, the history of science from Newton to NASA, and
Indigenous languages and cultures. The Society’s collections include more
than 14 million pages of manuscripts, 275,000 bound volumes, 250,000
images, thousands of hours of audio tape, and 3,360 three-dimensional
artifacts and fine art objects. It is home to three research centers: the
Center for Native American and Indigenous Research (CNAIR)

This fellowship supports mid-career or senior scholars in all fields
seeking sabbatical support for the completion of a book project. These
opportunities are funded by The National Endowment for the Humanities and

professional training.

Mellon Foundation Native American Scholars Initiative (NASI) Postdoctoral
Fellowship

This 12-month fellowship offers $45-60K plus a $5,000 research stipend for
