Humanist Discussion Group, Vol. 35, No. 92. Department of Digital Humanities, University of Cologne Hosted by DH-Cologne www.dhhumanist.org Submit to: humanist@dhhumanist.org Date: 2021-06-17 13:00:15+00:00 From: James Rovira <jamesrovira@gmail.com> Subject: Re: [Humanist] 35.90: theory? I can't explain what makes a great question, but this is a great question. I would hazard that a great question is only one that I haven't asked myself before but that piques my interest, especially if it hasn't come up in my reading. A question that could be inferred from my reading but not necessarily directly stated is a good question, and a question that's already answered in the reading is a bad one. I suspect you're going to find the same *kinds *of differences across the same *kinds *of disciplines with fewer differences among different fields within those disciplines. So "theory" in humanities will have many of the same kinds of differences and similarities across different areas of the humanities, and the same may be true of the sciences. Looking forward to other responses, though. Jim R > Perhaps someone here can help. I'm looking for a discussion of 'theory' > that recognises the differences across disciplines.
