        Subject: Darwin Online release on 140th anniversary of Darwin's death

To mark the 140th anniversary of Darwin's death in 1882, the Darwin
Online project has transcribed c.100 items from the Darwin family's
collection of letters and telegrams received from relatives, friends,
contemporaries and institutions. The messages expressed grief and
sorrow, offered condolences and tributes to the scientific figure they
saw as having transformed our understanding of the living world. Many of
these messages contain intimate and personal reminiscences by the
writer- providing never before published details about Darwin and his
contemporaries.
