The target audience for this two-week, in-person workshop is textual scholars who are already comfortable editing their digital texts in TEI XML or comparable alternatives; the goal of the Institute is to assist them in moving beyond textual editing to imagining, creating, and publishing research-driven, theoretically and methodologically innovative digital editions. Our five-day intensive courses on the history of manuscript, print, and digital materials will be offered online and in person at the University of Virginia and other partner institutions. Among our thirty-nine courses, we are pleased to offer several pertinent to those interested in digital humanities. The following is a sample of the breadth of the RBS offerings: — L-100: Digital Approaches to Bibliography & Book History, taught by Benjamin F. Pauley (of Eastern Connecticut State University) and Carl G. Stahmer (of University of California, Davis) — G-80: Identifying and Understanding Twentieth-Century Duplicating Technologies, taught by Brian Cassidy (of Type Punch Matrix) — L-120: Introduction to Audiovisual Archives Management, taught by Erica Titkemeyer and Steve Weiss (both of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill) Course applications will open the week of February 7th. To be considered in the first round of admissions decisions, course applications should be submitted no later than March 7th.
