Subject: as it was on the ground

Apart from myself and apart from the work Geoffrey Rockwell and
colleagues have done, are there any historical studies of the reception
history of computing in Europe and N America in its first few decades
that depend on detailed evidence from demotic sources such as newspapers
and magazines?

Thanks for any pointers.

Yours,
WM
