Humanist Discussion Group, Vol. 35, No. 188. Department of Digital Humanities, University of Cologne Hosted by DH-Cologne www.dhhumanist.org Submit to: humanist@dhhumanist.org Date: 2021-08-13 15:53:15+00:00 From: Clovis Gladstone <clovisgladstone@gmail.com> Subject: Relaunch of the Commonplace Cultures database The ARTFL Project is pleased to announce the relaunch of the Commonplace Cultures database which allows users to search through over 40 million shared passages within over 200,000 Early Modern English texts. Features include a search engine to explore reuses by any given author or title within the period, a faceted browser, and a shared passage timeline view to explore how a passage is reused over time. For more details on the history of the project, see our project description https://commonplacecultures.org/?page_id=291, or our white paper. Since the original release of the Commonplace Culture database, we've considerably improved the stability and overall performance of searches across the database (up to 5 times for some queries). The database is accessible to all and can be found at: https://commonplacecultures.uchicago.edu -- Clovis Gladstone Senior Research Associate Romance Languages and Literatures Associate Director of the ARTFL Project Project Director, Textual Optics Lab University of Chicago clovisgladstone@uchicago.edu _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe at: http://dhhumanist.org/Restricted List posts to: humanist@dhhumanist.org List info and archives at at: http://dhhumanist.org Listmember interface at: http://dhhumanist.org/Restricted/ Subscribe at: http://dhhumanist.org/membership_form.php
