Subject: 2 jobs in Berlin / research software engineers in DH Dear DH-Community, The Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BBAW, http://www.bbaw.de/) is seeking two research software developers in the field of digital humanities/digital editions. The BBAW is the largest non-university research institute in the region of Berlin-Brandenburg, lays in the heart of Berlin with over 300 years of history. Today, the academy incubates many research projects in the field of digital scholarly editions and cultural heritage; those projects are developed and published digitally in close collaboration between humanities researchers and the in-house DH department TELOTA, where both vacant positions will be affiliated. Since the job advertisements are only available in German, here is a short English summary: # Position 1 (TELOTA, http://www.bbaw.de/telota/telota) / 100% (24 months): The main tasks are conceptualizing, developing and maintaining research software in the field of DH, also taking a part in the development of programming interfaces (APIs) and data models for digital scholarly editions. The position requires a university degree in DH, humanities, or relevant discipline, experience with DH relevant standards (e.g. TEI Guidelines P5), with X-technologies (XML, XPath, XQuery and XSLT), and XML databases (mainly eXist-db), as well as knowledge of other programming languages (e.g. Python, PHP or Java).
