Over on MEDTEXTL, someone has invented TAN for `tangential matter; keep your
finger on the delete button'. This is a TAN. Speaking of the snipe,
snipe-hunting and the like, our expression "left holding the bag" comes from
the noble custom of taking city lads out in the country, giving them a bag
to hold, and telling them that you will chase the snipe down the path, etc.,
and that they must wait to catch it in the bag. One then goes home to bed.
Anyway, one can describe the snipe to the victim in any manner suitable.
