Subject: typologies for online journals and series?
I would very much appreciate comments and suggestions on how to improve my
recent survey of online academic journals and series. This survey, in draft
form, is entitled "Typologies for online journals and series", at the URL
I would particularly appreciate examples of academic publications that do
not easily fit into the schemes I have constructed, or those that fit under
poorly represented categories.
The purpose of the document is to represent serious online publishing to
sceptical but open-minded colleagues who are considering how they might take
advantage of the new medium. It is an attempt to move beyond the "cool
links" anecdotal stage to something more systematic. It is constructed from
a semi-random sampling of offerings in Ann Okerson's and Jim O'Donnell's
excellent source, NewJour.
