Subject: DH2024 SIG-DLS Workshop - Program update and deadline extension

Dear all,

We are happy to announce that the DH2024 pre-conference workshop
“Computational Literary Studies: How To Do Research Responsibly”
(co-organized by SIG-DLS and CLS-INFRA) will take place on Monday August
5th, 9:00am - 4:30pm. It will include two keynote talks by Amy Earnhart (on
datasets collected responsibly) and Artjoms Šeļa (on statistical analysis
conducted responsibly; the actual titles of the two keynote talks to be
announced later) and a demo session on extracting information from
large-scale collections of texts representing specific genres, e.g. ELTeC
(prose) and DraCor (drama). The program will be concluded by a session of
Lightning Talks in the afternoon. A light lunch (with vegetarian/vegan
options available) will be offered by the organizers.

You are all invited to join!

Also, if you have an idea that falls under the topic of “Computational
Literary Studies” and would like to discuss it with a pool of experts in
the field, do not hesitate to send your proposal for a lightning talk! To
give you more time, we have extended the deadline to 15 May 2024.

We are inviting submissions for lightning talks (max. 5 minutes) on ongoing
projects, research ideas, and infrastructures in DLS/CLS. Please send a
250-word abstract to simone.rebora@univr.it by 15 May 2024. Proposals will
be evaluated by the organizing committee and notifications sent by 30 May
2024. To keep up to date, you can find all the information on our website
