        Subject: Two funded PhD positions (Leuven, Belgium)

Dear all,

in the frame of the recently funded research project NIKAW (KU Leuven)
(Onderzoeksportaal (kuleuven.be)
<https://www.kuleuven.be/onderzoek/portaal/#/projecten/3H220323>), we
are looking for two PhD candidates for the application of computational
and digital mathodologies to classical (Latin and Ancient Greek)
literature. One candidate will work on Named Entity Recognition and
Named Entity Linking for two large corpora of Latin and Ancient Greek
texts. The candidate will also train a bilingual model supporting these
two tasks. The full description of the position, and the link for
applying, are available here: Vacatures (kuleuven.be)
<https://www.kuleuven.be/personeel/jobsite/jobs/60138308>

The other candidate will work on the analysis of the mentions of names
in the texts, applying, in particular, the tools of Social Network
Analysis: Vacatures (kuleuven.be)
<https://www.kuleuven.be/personeel/jobsite/jobs/60138293>

Both PhDs will work in a broad collaborative setup (the team includes
Mark Depauw, Alek Keersmaekers, Bart Thijs, Toon Van Hal, Tim Van De
Cruys, and myself).

We offer two 100% fellowships as a PhD student starting as soon as the
candidates are available (ideally, this fall). The call is open until
September 8^th.

Do not hesitate to forward this to potential candidates and to contact
me (margherita.fantoli@kuleuven.be) for any questions.

With best regards,

Margherita Fantoli
